Key Members
Founder and CEO, Carmelita Hallett
Carmelita worked at a prominent law firm in Edmonton, Alberta for 25 years. She spent 5 years working as a legal assistant then went back to university and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology while still working part time at the law firm. After graduating she moved into a combination IT and Marketing role. Eventually she turned her focus to solely marketing and assisted lawyers with business development and organized client events. She left the firm in April 2021 when her and Brent decided to take time off from work and do some travelling.
CFO, Andrea Benoit
Andrea is Carmelita’s aunt. Carmelita and Andrea have always been close, in fact, Carmelita was a nanny to her two sons many, many years ago. Andrea is a production accountant.
Secretary-Treasurer, Megan Benoit
Megan is married to Carmelita’s cousin Clayton. Megan is very creative and loves sewing. She sews clothes for her Brussels Griffon, Woodhouse. Megan is working on Somebunny To Love stuffies with a portion of the proceeds going to this foundation.
VP, Wendy Norman
Wendy is Brent’s cousin and they were born on the same day one year apart. Wendy is a teacher and lives in British Columbia with her husband and two children. Wendy, Jodi and Brent were very close growing up. Wendy was Brent’s first wife after a simple ceremony performed when they were under 10 years old.
VP, Jodi Schur
Jodi is Brent’s cousin. Jodi works at a medical office and lives with her three grown sons in Edmonton, Alberta. Brent had fond memories of their childhood together, especially a trip to Disneyland in the 1990s.
VP, Janene Vold
Janene and Carmelita are cousins. When Janene was a baby Carmelita would babysit her. Janene is a fur mama to two European boxers. Janene is creative and designed the concept for the logo for Jumpy.
